"In this randomized double-blind clinical trial of healthy adults administered CBD, 5 mg/kg/d for 28 days, 8 (5.6%) experienced liver enzyme level elevations and 7 (4.9%) met protocol defined criteria for potential DILI (Drug-Induced Liver Injury). This research has important implications for consumer safety. The findings suggest that CBD use at doses representative of currently available unregulated consumer products can lead to liver enzyme level elevations in healthy adults."
